FAQs

What can I expect on my 1st visit?

We are excited for your journey and introduction to floatation therapy. Watch this video before you arrive to streamline the experience. You can also arrive 15 min early and watch it here, prior to your float, if you’d like.

Can I drown if I fall asleep while floating ?

No. In fact some people do fall asleep and come out feeling relaxed and revitalized. The water is so buoyant that you stay afloat regardless of being awake or asleep. It’s the best waterbed you’ll ever find.

Can I float if I’m menstruating/on my period?

No. For obvious hygiene reasons it’s important you wait until the end of your cycle.

How is water hygiene maintained?

i-float Sensations complies with stringent health and safety regulations. The water contains mostly salt (7.5 lbs of salt per gallon of water) so the solution is sterile. Upon exiting the float pod our state of the art purification system will automatically begin cleaning the water. The purification system will remove particles to 10 micron (1/10th of human hair). Circulating water is subjected to high frequency UV light as well as an Ozonator emitting O3 into the water. The entire pod contents are circulated five to six times between floating sessions as well as running all night long during closed hours. We are currently experimenting with Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) as our main source of disinfectant. H2O2 in safe dosages has the beneficial effect of oxidizing the skin and has no harmful residue or gas upon breaking down. H2O2 is naturally produced when UV light strikes oxygen in the presence of moisture and is active in the environment during lightening storms. Interesting fact: Hydrogen peroxide is naturally found in honey! We are committed that each client experience a pristine pod and room upon each visit.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Appointment cancellations permitted w/ 24 hour advanced notice.

For members -or- pre-purchased floaters: In the case of a 'no show' your purchased float credit will be used/redeemed but can be reinstated and rescheduled for a $25 late cancellation fee.

'No show' appointments that were not pre-purchased but scheduled and missed are subject to a $40 'no show' charge per guest/reservation.

What do I need to bring with me?

All you need to bring is yourself. We provide everything you need to accommodate your float session. Towels and earplugs are supplied to each floater free of charge.

What if I’m kind of claustrophobic?

You are in complete control of your session and can choose to keep the pod door open, lights on or even get out when you see fit. The pods are very large, 8½ft long and 5½ft wide. With the door open it’s 8ft tall. It does not feel enclosed whatsoever once inside. Usually once we have explained to our customers that they are in the drivers seat of the whole process, their worries subside, and usually they go on to float with the door closed and the lights off. Both of which are fully controllable from within the float pod as well.

Can I float if I’m pregnant?

Absolutely! Pregnant women love floating. If you are in your third trimester, or have any concerns, please consult with your physician before coming in. Later term pregnant women probably get more relief from the float pod than anyone else. We have a float position specifically for second and third trimester women. Mid term pregnant women often find considerable relief from pain and stiffness, particularly while floating prone, with elbows on the floor of the tank (the water is only 10” deep) and chin cupped in hands. In this position the fetus is fully floating and the mother’s back and pelvic girdle are released from load. What a great idea! Just lying on a bed can be extremely uncomfortable for women in the later stages of pregnancy due to the massive gravitational strain placed on the body. The float Pod is a wonderful haven to which pregnant women can escape. We do however recommend that like most activities floating should be avoided in the first trimester.

Can I use accrued/multiple credits for longer duration floats?

Yes you can. Floats credits can be stacked for additional time in the pod. If you are a Quartz, Moonstone, Amethyst, or Moldavite Member you can extend your float 30-60 min, if you would like, by using an additional credit. Book your float like normal, make your selection for duration and then just remind us at the front desk at your time of visit and we will get it sorted out for you. If you are a legacy member from our OG float spa days (ifloat Bountiful) you may extend your floats an additional 30min/each additionally used credit.

What if I don’t float?

As once put by a good friend: “It doesn’t matter if you’re a canoe or a battleship; you will float. It’s just the science of it.”

How deep is the water?

The water is only 10 inches deep.

Will I get ‘pruney’ or dehydrated from floating?

No, your skin doesn’t even prune up! You do absorb magnesium and sulfates from the epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) though. According to the National Academy of Sciences most Americans are deficient in magnesium. Raising your magnesium levels can improve your circulation, improve your body’s ability to use insulin, ease muscle pain, regulate electrolytes, and relieve stress. Plus when you get out, your skin will be all exfoliated and soft.

Do I need a bathing suit?

No. We recommend floating in your birthday suit. Your personal float room is totally private! However, if you’re more comfortable wearing a swimming suit, that’s okay as well.

Can more than one person float in the pod at the same time?

No, only one person can float per float pod. We have multiple float pods, so couples can still come float simultaneously at our center.
